Bruce Campbell...

Tue Jun 28, 2005, 8:57 AM
...is HILARIOUS in person. Ten times funnier than on-screen. Seriously.

I know this because I went to a "lecture" he gave at our main public library...Mr. Campbell is apparently on tour with his new book, Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way, so......check up with your local library, all you city dwellers. Get there early. Buy the book. Ask questions -- none to do with eternally prospective Evil Dead 4, of course. And for God's sakes, don't ask him to say 'woodshed'.

Anyway, new drawing's up. Enjoy.

Hello, you seem to know your way around both oil painting and printing, two media I am interested in. I have never used oil paints and my experience in printing is limited to ink on a generic linoleum material. I was wondering if you could recommend sources fromwhich I could research either topic.

I don't really do much linoleum printmaking these days, though that may change if the printshop here closes up for the summer.

After reading your post, I tried digging up some links on relief printmaking that might help. Here's what I found:

Linoleum Relief Printing
A Step-By-Step Woodblock Tutorial
The Baren Forum of Woodblock Printing

The first link will probably answer most of your questions, but I figured I throw in a couple woodblock printmaking links for the sake of completeness.

As for oil painting, there's such a bewildering number of online resources that you'd be far better off just buying a solid introduction to oil painting at a bookstore -- and that book would without question be Bill Creevy's The Oil Painting Book. Creevy's intro is as comprehensive as its title suggests, and then some. It should be pretty easy to find in most bookstores, but if not, you can always order it on Amazon right here.. Hope that helps -- best wishes and good luck!

Gah, I love Burton, too. Now, I can see some Burton-esh influence in some of your work. See you around sweetheart. Consider yourself watched. :D
